Proposal 3 was a Constitutional Amendment that passed in November 2018 that made changes to the Election Law. The big changes that were made include the following:
Providing voters the option to vote a straight-party ballot.
Allowing citizens to register to vote by mail until 15 days before an election and up to 8:00 p.m. election day at their local clerk's office with proof of residency.
Allows for all registered voters to vote absentee without needing to provide a reason.
This means that you can skip the line on Election Day and vote by mail without providing a reason. You can also request to be placed on the permanent absentee voter list to save a step in the future. You can contact the City Clerk to request an absentee ballot, request to be placed on the permanent list, or if you have any questions about the process.
